As part of the structural adjustments being brought to strengthen the management of Fenaka Corporation, the company has suspended granting paid leave and no-pay leave.

In a circular signed by the company's Chief Quality Officer Usaid Hussain and sent to departments and branches today, it stated that efforts are underway to right-size Fenaka. Therefore, the circular noted that the granting of leave with pay as well as leave without pay has been temporarily suspended starting from today.

Major changes are being brought to Fenaka since Mohamed Afeef assumed the post of Managing Director last April.

Among these changes, the company has also offered a proposal to provide four months' salary to employees who voluntarily resign upon their own request.

The opportunity to apply for this scheme has been opened from yesterday until the June 14.

In addition to the opportunity to voluntarily resign with four months' salary, an opportunity to retire under a retirement program has also been opened now.

Afeef told "Mihaaru" that there are about 8,000 employees at Fenaka and it is believed that this is "not the right size" for the company.

"Then, people have been brought in differently at different times, haven't they? So we are looking to see if the company's operations can be organized within the right size of the company," Afeef said.

He has stated that among the large number of employees hired by Fenaka under the guise of running various projects, some individuals have also been made permanent. Consequently, he noted that there is a large number of employees who do not have specific work to do on a daily basis.
