Villa College’s open day event, Campus Quest: Comic Edition 2026, will begin tomorrow at the college’s QI campus in Male;.
The two-day event, running from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, is designed to combine education, gaming and pop culture in an interactive setting.
Participants entering the event will receive a digital “Hero Passport” through a web application and will be able to complete challenges across different faculty zones to collect digital stamps by scanning QR codes. Those who complete all stamps will be entered into a special prize draw.
Each faculty has prepared themed activities linked to its field of study.
The Qasim Ibrahim School of Business will host an “Ultimate Hero CEO” challenge focused on business skills, while the Faculty of Engineering and Technology will feature AI coding, 3D printing and smart home technology under a Transformers-inspired theme.
The Faculty of Sharia and Law will host a live moot court experience based on Gotham City and Batman, allowing participants to role-play legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Health Sciences will present an “Avengers meets Grey’s Anatomy” experience featuring a simulated Level 5 outbreak scenario. The Faculty of Educational Studies will host a “Classroom Crisis” teaching game featuring Cartoon Network characters.
The School of Psychology and VCare Psychotherapy Centre will also offer participants the chance to solve a fictional crime case.
Additional attractions include Chinese cultural activities inspired by Kung Fu Panda at the Chinese Centre and an e-sports zone organised in collaboration with Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, featuring PS5, VR and racing simulation games. Dungeons & Dragons Maldives will also host a tabletop gaming stall.
One of the main stage highlights will be a cosplay ramp walk, with participants invited to dress as their favorite fictional characters for a chance to win prizes sponsored by Ell Mobile. The event will also feature live music performances and student talent shows.
Food and beverage vendors at the festival include Moo Kitchen, CakedMV, Coffee State and Crumbs & Co. Creative and retail stalls will feature brands and communities including Daisies, AnimeCollectMV, Cosplayers Stall, Note Cosmetics and Ell Mobile.
Villa College said the event aims to showcase educational opportunities available at the institution in a more engaging environment while giving visitors the chance to explore campus facilities.
Students interested in joining the May 2026 intake will be able to apply during the event and receive offer letters on-site. Career guidance, career assessments and mental health support services will also be available throughout the festival.
