Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened submissions for proposals under its annual Bank Fund initiative, which supports registered NGOs in implementing sustainable community projects across the country.
The fund provides financial assistance for projects in the areas of education, environment, and sports. Each year, five selected organizations receive MVR 200,000 to carry out their proposed initiatives.
Now in its third year in its current format, BML describes the programme as part of its commitment to empowering NGOs and supporting grassroots development across Maldivian communities.
BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the bank believes sustainable growth is driven by community-level action. He said the fund is designed to help transform ideas from islands into meaningful social impact.
“We are proud of the positive changes this fund has brought to the community so far. In 2026, we hope to continue supporting more sustainable projects that will benefit society,” he said.
Registered associations and clubs can apply by submitting proposals via email to bankfund@bml.com.mv before 2pm on June 14.
Since its introduction, the Bank Fund has supported nine NGOs in implementing community-focused projects.
