National carrier Maldivian has entered a strategic partnership with Sri Lankan Airlines. 

As part of this, the airlines will collaborate to enhance connectivity between Maldives and wide global network, while improving passenger access to destinations across the airlines' networks, Maldivian said. 

Maldivian said the partnership will allow the airline to receive additional passengers from Sri Lankan Airlines' international network on services to 17 domestic destinations beyond Male'. 

It added that the arrangement will facilitate seamless connections for travelers from major global markets entering the Maldives via Colombo. 

The partnership will also offer Maldivian passengers improved convenience and flexibility when travelling abroad, with smoother onward links to a wide range of international destinations through Colombo. 

“This partnership marks another important step in our efforts to enhance accessibility to the Maldives and strengthen connectivity beyond Malé to the atolls,” said Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Maldivian.

“With Sri Lankan Airlines’ extensive global reach and our domestic network, this collaboration will support tourism growth while also making international travel more convenient for Maldivians.” 

Maldivian said the partnership aligns with both airlines' focus on strengthening regional ties, improving network connectivity, and ensuring a seamless travel experience. It added that the agreement will support tourism and business travel growth in the Maldives and offer Maldivian passengers more convenient international travel options.
