Islanders Education has revealed that it is preparing to open branches of the renowned Finland International School in capital Male and reclaimed suburb Hulhumale.
Finland is a country famed for its developed education system. Educational experts say that Finland ranks ahead of first world countries such as the US and UK with regards to the education sector.
Finland International School is managed by the University of Jyväskylä of Finland. This school will be operated by EduConnect Private Limited under Islanders Education in the Maldives.
Islanders Education is currently operating Billabong High International School and Kangaroo Kids School in the Maldives, the successes of which have earned the company the trust of Maldivian parents.
The opening of Finland International School would mark the first Finnish school to be opened in this region. EduCluster Finland is mandated by Finland Export Agency to expand its education system to other countries. Currently, the company is managing an international school in Doha, Qatar in conjunction with the country's royal family and government.
The new school in the Maldives would be Finland International School's second branch. The companies are to sign the agreement soon and make an official announcement on February 10.
