Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has yesterday launched a dedicated hotline, 1544, for complaints related to their Favara payment system services. 

The hotline was inaugurated by MMA Governor Ahmed Munavvar at a ceremony held at the central bank yesterday. 

MMA said that the hotline was introduced to improve payment services by MMA's Payment Maldives Pvt Ltd, and to offer convenient resolutions to issues faced by service seekers. 

Payment Maldives Pvt Ltd will be responsible for handling and resolving complaints submitted via the hotline. 

MMA stated that the current hotline, 1444, for complaints regarding financial services, will still continue to provide service without interruption. 

The new hotline is dedicated for Favara and other payment services provided by Payment Maldives. 

MMA said it hopes the new hotline will help deliver quicker solutions to challenges customers face when carrying out transactions in the Maldives' banking and financial system, and in turn strengthen trust in the system.
