Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has announced that its newly launched taxi line service will be offered free of charge until next Thursday.

In a notice, the company said the free period is intended to gather public feedback to improve service quality. Customers have been invited to share suggestions during this time.

“Customers are invited to book their trips through the 1655 hotline during this period,” MTCC said.

The company added that it will refine operations based on feedback received, with the nearest available vehicle dispatched upon request.

Fares will be set officially by the Ministry of Transport Maldives once the free travel period ends. The service will continue to operate through a digital booking system, with online payment options available thereafter.

The taxi line fleet includes three types of vehicles: Lumin model cars for trips within the city, Deepal S5 vehicles for travel between Malé, Hulhumalé and Velana International Airport, and Deepal S7 vehicles designed for up to four passengers.
