MVR 447 million spent on PSIP projects

MVR 447 million has been spent on PSIP projects by the government over the past two months. 

According to Finance Ministry statistics, this amount indicates a year-on-year decrease of 7 percent. Last year, the figure stood at MVR 483 million. 

The highest expenditure under PSIP projects was on projects related to airports and the transport system. A total of MVR 161 million was spent on these. 

Second on the list is electricity and energy systems, with MVR 75 million spent. MVR 55 million was spent on land reclamation projects. 

This year's budget has an allocation of MVR 8.3 billion for PSIP projects. 

While MVR 6.9 billion was spent from the budget over the past two months, MVR 434 million was spent on projects. MVR 5.9 billion was spent on government operations and staff salaries.
