STELCO launches customer service portal 'Vashani'

The portal was inaugurated at a special ceremony held at STELCO offices today by Deputy Managing Director Dr Ali Azwar, the interim head of the company.

STELCO has today launched their new customer service portal, 'Vashani'. 

The portal was inaugurated at a special ceremony held at STELCO offices today by Deputy Managing Director Dr Ali Azwar, the interim head of the company.

Azwar said that 'Vashani' was formed as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Maldives 2.0 initiative, where all institutions in the country are to be digitalized. 

'Vashani' portal is the result of collaborative effort from many STELCO staff over a long period of time, Azwar noted, saying the day of its launch will be marked in the company's history. 

"The portal offers all customer related services online. In addition to bill payments, there will be a mechanism to submit payments for other services, and check status," he explained.

Some STELCO services require authorization from registered or licensed engineers at Utility Regulatory Authority. 

Azwar said that this application also includes means for seeking authorization from approved licensed engineers.

He added that the new portal will offer added convenience to customers.
