MIFCO has introduced its first-ever premium brand and launched five products under this brand last night.
The state-owned fishing company's premium brand is named "Ranvaru." The company stated that this is a special name for premium products released under MIFCO’s Fasmeeru brand. This also marks the first time MIFCO has introduced a separate brand specifically for premium products.
MIFCO stated that the Ranvaru brand is part of its efforts to increase products and expand the company's business. Five products were launched under the "Ranvaru" brand at a special ceremony held at MIFCO’s main store last night.
They are:
- Yellowfin Tuna Steak canned fish
- Yellowfin Tuna Bandaiydhoo (Belly) canned fish
- Rihaakuru (with liver, eggs, and organs)
- Rihaakuru (with finely ground fish)
- Fried Rihaakuru (with finely ground fish)
According to MIFCO, all these products will be sold at the company's stores in Malé starting today. The company has also decided to introduce economy packs in the future.

MIFCO said that the opportunity to taste and experience Ranvaru products will be available at the company’s fish shop for the next three days.
Regarding these products, MIFCO’s General Manager of Local Sales and Marketing, Hassan Zahid Mohamed, said that Ranvaru consists of products released in premium quality.
In this regard, Zahid noted that two canned fish products and three Rihaakuru products have been released.

"MIFCO's goal is to release products to the market that the public will accept. As such, in addition to the products released to the market now, we will introduce various products under the Ranvaru brand in the future as well," Zahid said.

He stated that the "Ranvaru" brand is a brand introduced by MIFCO specifically for the Maldivian market and that he hopes the brand's products will receive great support, similar to products specially prepared for the foreign market.
