Bank of Maldives (BML) sold USD 566 million to businesses and personal customers in 2025.
As per BML's annual report, this marks a 70 percent increase from the previous year.
In 2024, BML sold USD 334 million to businesses and the public, indicating an increase of USD 232 million last year.
Last year, the bank also expanded dollar services. As such, the bank increased foreign transaction limit on debit cards, and increased TT allowance for businesses.
BML now allows foreign transactions of up to USD 3,000 on BML debit cards, under set conditions.
BML also established seven new dollar ATMs across the atolls. The bank stated that they maintained the liquidity despite the increase in dollar sales.
