Ooredoo Maldives has been named the best fixed network in the Maldives at the Ookla Speedtest Awards, marking the first time a Maldivian telecommunications provider has received the recognition.
The award is presented by Ookla, a leading provider of network intelligence and connectivity insights, based on extensive customer experience data and performance analysis.
Winners are determined using speed scores derived from metrics such as download and upload speeds, as well as network responsiveness.
The accolade reflects Ooredoo’s continued investment in broadband expansion and advanced technologies aimed at strengthening connectivity nationwide.
Ooredoo Maldives’ Managing Director and CEO, Shadi Qawasmi, said the company was proud to receive the award for Best Fixed Network in the Maldives.
“Our network is designed to connect the islands of the Maldives, empower communities and enable businesses to thrive digitally,” he said, adding that the company would continue efforts to deliver even more reliable connectivity.
Ooredoo said dependable high speed internet is essential for economic growth, education, tourism, fintech and public services as the Maldives accelerates its digital transformation. The company has invested in modern fibre networks, broadband innovation and customer-focused solutions.
Its fixed network services include fibre broadband and next-generation home connectivity solutions, aimed at enabling customers across the country to work, learn, stream and stay connected without interruption.
