Hong Kong's Greater Bay Airlines has commenced charter flights to Maldives.
MACL said the airlines first flight, HB 2500, arrived in Maldives today. Velana International Airport greeted the flight with a water salute, extending a warm welcome to the 174 passengers who arrived on it.
MACL said that Greater Bay Airlines will be conducting a daily flight to Maldives from Hong Kong. For the flights, a Boeing 737 Max airplane will be used.
Greater Bay Airlines is the second airline to introduce direct flights between Hong Kong and Maldives.
China is also currently the leading source market for tourist arrivals to Maldives. Statistics from the Tourism Ministry indicate that the first week of February recorded 35,123 tourist arrivals from China.
