Ooredoo Maldives has donated diving equipment to the MNDF. During a special ceremony held at Bandaara Koshi last Tuesday, the items were handed over to Minister of Defence Ghassan Maumoon by Ooredoo’s Managing Director, Khalid Al-Hamadi.

The diving equipment donated by the company includes Ocean Reef M105 digital dual-channel communication devices, Lab underwater loudspeakers, and Ocean Reef full-face masks.

These items are designed to assist with communication while diving.

These are useful tools for various underwater operations conducted by the Coast Guard. Ooredoo’s Managing Director and CEO, Al-Hamadi, stated that these resources were the same equipment used during the activity held to set a Guinness World Record for the largest underwater panel discussion, which took place in connection with the company’s 20th anniversary. He noted that this equipment would serve as an aid for underwater operations.

Regarding the items donated by Ooredoo, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy stated that modern tools are important for strengthening the Coast Guard’s search and rescue capacity and enhancing underwater operations. He further remarked that with this equipment, the country’s operational effectiveness and capability to face maritime challenges will be increased.

Ooredoo continues to provide various forms of assistance to different institutions.
