MIB Guesthouse Awards application window to open in July

Crowe Maldives, the company in charge of the work surrounding the MIB Guesthouse Awards, has said that the application window for the awards will open in July.

At a press conference held in Maagiri Hotel today, Crowe Maldives Managing Partner Hassan Mohamed said that the work regarding the awards was given to an independent partner, which is Crowe Maldives, in order to ascertain its integrity. He also said that award categories have already been determined, with priority in category determination being given to make it monetizable so as to add value for investors. And so, eight industries were determined in awarding guesthouses.

Hassan stated that the categories are important for the industry to move forward.

The application window for the awards will open on 15th July. Hassan said that interested parties will have a month to apply and that award categories will be announced in the coming week.

The awards are endorsed by the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association. The association has handed the relevant documentation to MIB.

The MIB Guesthouse Awards will be held at the yearly MIB Guesthouse Symposium. The symposium will be held in October. This will be Maldives' first guesthouse awards.
