Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the successful completion of five projects initiated under the BML Islamic Community Impact Grant.
The bank noted that while these five projects have been finalized, work on an additional two projects is currently ongoing.
This grant was launched as part of the activities to commemorate the 10th anniversary of BML Islamic, focusing on staff-led social initiatives related to education and the environment.
The five completed projects under the grant are:
- Establishment of a study and reading area at Seenu Atoll Education Centre: According to BML, the area has been shaded and equipped with water-resistant benches and tables. It was designed to provide a quiet environment for reading and group study, surrounded by natural greenery.
- Construction of a boundary wall and a sand/water play area at Thaa Atoll School: The objective of this project was to create a joyful and suitable developmental environment for the children.
- Installation of benches at Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll School: BML stated that this initiative provides a comfortable seating arrangement for parents, visitors, staff, and students. The bank noted that this was part of an effort to make the school environment a more pleasant space for everyone.

- Establishment of a 'Student Resource Hub' at Dharumavantha Hospital to assist medical students: Located in the area dedicated to health sector students, this hub includes bookshelves with essential medical texts and digital resources such as a '3D Anatomy Atlas' subscription. Additionally, laboratory equipment including microscopes, binocular microscopes, and electronic scales are available for study and research.
- Construction of a walkway at Muraidhoo School: The purpose of this project, as stated by the bank, is to provide a safe path connecting classrooms, administrative offices, and outdoor areas for students, teachers, and parents. BML emphasized that this walkway ensures ease of movement in all weather conditions, making the school a safer environment.
