Dhiraagu and Sparkhub have announced the Maldives’ first-ever Generative AI Hackathon.
This 48-hour event is designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and creators with the opportunity to advance through AI.
The hackathon aims to bring together young creators in one space, helping them transform their innovative ideas into real products in a short period using Generative AI tools and platforms.
Participants will receive support and guidance through sessions led by AI experts, covering all stages from product development to launch. Unlike previous hackathons, "GenAI Hack" will follow an open-category format, where participants will create entirely new products specifically for this event.
Synetex is the co-partner for this hackathon.
Operating under the principle of "No Shipping, No Pitching," teams must launch their products to the public before the final pitch. Instead of slide decks or conceptual demos, judges will evaluate fully functional products introduced to the public.
Mirshan Hassan, Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, noted that in an era where Generative AI is rapidly evolving, it is crucial to familiarize as many people as possible with these tools. He stated that supporting this hackathon demonstrates Dhiraagu's commitment to enabling local creators to find solutions, build products, and develop the capability to test and launch them using AI.
Hussain Jinan, CEO and Co-Founder of Sparkhub, mentioned that entrepreneurs globally are rapidly building products using AI.
Therefore, unlike traditional hackathons, the goal of GenAI Hack is to help participants create and launch actual products rather than just presenting concepts.
GenAI Hack 2026 is scheduled to take place from the 6th to the 8th of next month.
The opportunity to participate is open to teams of 3 to 5 members, and slots will be granted to those who register first. Registration is available at https://genaihack.io/.
