The number of airlines operating from the new terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA) has increased to 34, following the commencement of services by Air France.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said the addition of the French national carrier marks another milestone in its efforts to provide comprehensive and high-quality services to airlines operating in Maldives.
A special ceremony was held at Terminal 1 on Saturday to mark the opening of Air France’s services. The event was attended by Manta Aviation Deputy CEO and Accountable Manager Ahmed Maumoon.
Air France officially opened its check-in counters at Terminal 1 yesterday. To mark the occasion, the airline presented gifts to 51 departing passengers, while the 332 passengers who arrived on its flight, AF268, were welcomed with traditional cultural performances.
Air France is the first French airline to operate from VIA’s new terminal. The airline launched flights to Maldives on November 2, 2017.
