Kangaroo Kids International Preschool has announced a new Toddler Transition Program (TTP) for the upcoming academic year, designed specifically for children aged 18 to 24 months.
The program, already run in Kangaroo Kids schools in countries such as India, is being introduced in the Maldives for the first time.
Like the school’s other grades, TTP will run in multiple sessions, with each class lasting two hours. The school has opened applications for four sessions.
Principal Aminath Thahmeenaa said launching TTP has been a long-term goal and follows multiple requests from parents.
The program is intended to give very young children an opportunity to begin schooling in a safe, age-appropriate and enjoyable environment.
The new grade will follow its own curriculum, and teachers are currently undergoing training for the program. Thahmeenaa described the introduction of TTP as a significant step forward for the school.
She noted that all classroom materials used at Kangaroo Kids are supplied directly by the school, with no additional fees beyond monthly tuition. Each child receives two sets of uniforms and a complete book set annually at no extra cost.

“Students only need to bring their interval and a water bottle. Everything else is provided by the school,” she said.
The Kangaroo Kids book sets are aligned with the curriculum and include materials for Dhivehi, Islam, and Quran. These are updated annually, and home extension books are given to support additional learning at home, particularly for students in SKG.
Alongside the introduction of TTP, the school will continue to offer its three-hour playschool and nursery classes. Next year, JKG hours will be extended to four, and both JKG and SKG will be conducted in two sessions.
A special children’s evening will take place tomorrow at the Ruhgandu area near the Dhiraagu Building in Hulhumalé. Families who apply for admission during the event will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee.
Applications for all grades can be submitted through the school’s website.
