Connectivity agreement signed between Maldivian, Air India

Maldives' national airline Maldivian has signed a connectivity agreement with India's national airline Air India.

Island Aviation, which operates Maldivian, said that with the new agreement, the flights between both countries will be connected even easier than before. The airline also said that it will also further ease domestic travel via Maldivian for passengers coming from India.

Island Aviation said that passengers coming from New Delhi and Mumbai via Air India would not have to layover at Maldives for too long, with them being able to take a connecting domestic flight. Maldivian travels to 16 destinations within Maldives.

Maldivian Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas stated that due to the agreement with Air India, the work being done by the airline to offer a good service to passengers traveling to atolls will see progress. He said that he also hopes that the tourism industry will see further progress.

Chief Commercial Officer of Indian Airlines Nipun Aggarwal said that passengers who use their airline can book flights for domestic travel in Maldives.

Maldivian has been signing connectivity agreements with other international airlines as well. And with these type of agreements, passengers who fly into Maldives internationally can easily book domestic flights.
