November tourist arrivals up 13 percent year-on-year

Official statistics indicate that the number of tourist arrivals recorded this November show a 13 percent increase compared to November, 2024. 

Data shared by the Tourism Ministry shows that 195,127 tourist arrivals were recorded in November. This is a 12.8 percent increase compared to the 172,987 arrivals in November 2024. 

Average daily arrivals in November was also higher compared to the preceding month. An average arrival rate of 6,504 tourists per day was recorded last month. 

The total number of tourists visiting the Maldives this year has reached 2,022,061 by the end of November. 

Maldives recorded 2 million arrivals for the first time in its tourism history last year, with 2,046,615 arrivals. 

China is the largest source market for Maldives tourism. As of November end, 312,478 tourists arrived from China, which comes to 15.5 percent of the total tourist market. 

Second on the list is Russia, with 253,834 tourists, followed by the UK, with 181,300 tourists.
