State Trading Organisation (STO) and Hitachi celebrated the 25th anniversary of their partnership last evening at a ceremony held at Barcelo Nasandhura.
The event was attended by Hitachi’s managing director and senior officials, along with STO chairperson Amir Mansoor, managing director Shimad Ibrahim, board members and several former senior executives.

In his remarks, Shimad highlighted the long-standing ties between the two companies, noting the impact of Hitachi products on the Maldivian market and the ease they have brought to consumers’ daily lives.
Hitachi, founded more than a century ago, has maintained a strong presence in the Maldives, with its air conditioners and refrigerators among STO’s most popular product lines.

The anniversary event showcased a range of Hitachi appliances, and four customers with the highest Hitachi purchases were recognized and awarded. The company also used the occasion to launch its new “Hitachi New Air” product line.
