MasterCard has honored the Bank of Maldives (BML) for its efforts to advance the digital economy in the Maldives.

The award was presented to BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef by MasterCard’s Maldives and Sri Lanka Country Manager Sandun Hapugoda at a Digital Finance Leadership event held in Singapore.

MasterCard recognized BML’s continuous efforts to boost the Maldivian economy and drive innovation under the Digital Country Partnership, a collaboration signed by the Home Ministry, MasterCard, and BML.

The partnership aims to modernize the country’s digital infrastructure and expand secure, fast digital services for individuals, businesses, and communities.
