SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has been rebranded today as SME Digital.
SDFC's new branding and logo was unveiled at a ceremony held this morning at Barcelo Nasandhura by Bank of Maldives (BML), under which SDFC is operated.
The SME Digital branding was launched by BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb and CEO Mohamed Shareef.
Badrudeen Hassan, CEO and Managing Director of SDFC, called it a milestone moment for the company, framing the rebranding as a strategic move to align with evolving technological trends.
"With this rebranding to SME Digital, we have turned a new page in the company's future," he said.
Badrudeen said that in future, SME Digital will not only provide financing to small and medium businesses, but will instead provide comprehensive digital solutions to small businesses.
SDFC will provide Shariah-compliant facilities, and will serve as a digital marketplace for businesses run across the country, he added.
"We have also decided to introduce digital tools necessary for small businesses, and digital payment solutions for businesses through the SME Digital mobile app," he announced.
Badrudeen further said that under integration efforts after SDFC was made a subsidiary of BML, SME digital facilities will be available through BML's mobile app and API from tomorrow onwards.
