Bank of Maldives (BML) has inaugurated an ATM service in Laamu atoll Kalaidhoo, completing the rollout of ATM facilities across all residential islands in the atoll.
The launch ceremony was attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, cabinet ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior BML officials.
Speaking at the event, Shareef said the initiative is part of BML’s “ATMs for the Whole Country” project, aimed at increasing access to banking services for residents in all islands.
He highlighted the importance of ATMs in integrating communities into the banking system while highlighting the bank’s ongoing efforts to expand and strengthen digital services.
BML currently operates 42 branches, 200 self-service banking centres, 258 ATMs, and provides advanced online banking services across 20 atolls.
