Ooredoo's Chief Commercial Officer, Hussain Niyaz, has stated that PayPal
services will be available to all phone numbers used in the Maldives.
Ooredoo Maldives and PayPal are currently working to officially establish a
partnership to introduce PayPal services to the Maldives next year.
Regarding the matter, Niyaz said that the PayPal service the company is
working to introduce will be available to all customers who use m-Faisaa. He
said that since m-Faisaa is a wallet that can be used by customers of any
network, people can access the PayPal service by creating an m-Faisaa wallet,
regardless of their current service provider.
The announcement by Ooredoo to introduce PayPal services comes after the
Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) granted Ooredoo the necessary Inward
Remittance License last Wednesday.
Ooredoo stated that with the launch of PayPal services in the Maldives next
year, financial transactions can be conducted from the Maldives with countless
global entities that accept PayPal. The company noted that the PayPal service
will be accessible through Ooredoo's m-Faisaa accounts.
