Kangaroo Kids International Preschool has decided to extend their Junior Kindergarten (JKG) class hours to four hours from three hours from the next academic year onward.
The school said their Senior Kindergarten (SKG) has four hour classes as well in the current academic year and has been a good experience. And so the school said that JKG will have four hours of class from the next academic year onward.
Kangaroo Kids Principal Aminath Thahmeena said that this is an important change in order to implement their curriculum in the best way possible. She also said this change was requested by many parents.
"With this increase in time, the school will be able to put more time into the physical and psychological well-being of the children. We believe this will bring about a notable positive change," said Thahmeena.
The principal said that there will be no changes to school fees even with the time increase.

"Every child will get two sets of uniforms and a book set once a year without any extra fees. The school will provide everything that is being used in the classroom. Students only have to bring their lunch and water bottles to school," said Thahmeena.
As per the principal, the Kangaroo Kids book sets are made with the curriculum in mind. She said that there will be specific books from Dhivehi, Islam and Quran, which can be upgraded once a year. She also said that the school will provide "home extension" books for each book from the school.
"This resource is meant to help parents who want their children to study at home as well. There will be no extra fees added to this," said the principal.
The playschool and nursery classes will not see an increase in time for the next academic year, with those classes remaining at their current three hours. Both these class levels will see a split between morning, afternoon and evening classes.
These time allocations are to give parents easier times to drop their kids off at school.
Admissions have been opened for the next academic year at Kangaroo Kids. Parents can submit applications through the school website. School fees and other information can be found via the website as well.
