MIB announces Guesthouse Awards

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has announced the Guesthouse Awards to empower local guest houses and encourage higher quality standards across the sector.

MIB’s Media Manager, Ahusan Jameel, said the awards would be managed independently to ensure transparency and fairness. The process has been handed over to Crowe Maldives, which will oversee all aspects from the award structure to the selection of judges.

The announcement was made at the MIB Guest House Symposium, held on Thursday. The annual symposium provides a platform for guest house operators to exchange ideas and discuss the growth and challenges of the sector.

This year’s symposium featured four panel discussions, covering issues such as the operational challenges facing the guest house industry and ways to further strengthen the sector.

Around 150 participants attended the event. MIB said the first Guest House Awards will be presented at the next Guest House Symposium.
