MACL staff receive MVR 25,000 in annual bonus

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has started disbursing last year's annual bonus to its staff. The bonus comes to MVR 25,000 per staff this time. 

MACL has issued annual bonus at MVR 25,000 per staff during the past four years as well. 

MACL CEO Ibrahim Shareef announced that the company will award the same bonus this year in recognition of the dedication and effort shown by its staff. 

Shareef commended the staff for their relentless dedication to ensuring the new terminal opened as scheduled, noting that last year was one of the busiest periods for the team. 

The bonus is being deposited to staff accounts from yesterday onwards. In awarding the bonus, performance over the last year will be taken into consideration. 

MACL employs approximately 5000 staff members. 

Last year, MACL received profits of MVR 1 billion. According to published data, the company's profits last year were 18 percent higher than the previous year, coming to an increase of about MVR 192 million. In 2023, MACL received profits of MVR 903 million.
