Bank of Maldives (BML) stated that it has installed a total of 82 ATMs across various islands of the Maldives from February until yesterday. A total of 122,000 transactions have been carried out through these ATMs so far.

According to BML’s social media post sharing ATM statistics, a total of MVR 313 million was withdrawn via the 82 ATMs installed in different islands across various atolls. In addition, a total of MVR 145 million was deposited into different accounts through these ATMs. BML holds the largest customer base in the Maldives.

According to the statistics, BML’s ATMs in the Malé area process around 14,000 transactions daily, rolling out approximately MVR 78 million. Meanwhile, in the atolls, around 9,000 transactions are processed daily, with MVR 25 million withdrawn.

BML also announced today that an additional nine ATMs have been installed in Raa Atoll. However, the bank’s latest statistics do not yet include figures from these newly installed machines.

In the past, when these islands had no access to ATMs, BML provided services through mobile banking vessels and local island agents.
