Bank of Maldives' Credit Card limits are to be increased from February 2026 onwards.
In a post shared on X today, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced that under the government's efforts to increase dollar usage limit on credit cards, the dollar usage limit on BML Classic credit cards will be increased from USD 750 to USD 1400 from February 1, 2026 onwards.
Similarly, the limit on BML Gold cards will be increased from USD 750 to USD 1500, and on Platinum cards, from USD 1500 to USD 2000, the President said.
Bank of Maldives will also be increasing foreign POS transaction allowance on debit cards from USD 500 to USD 1000 from November 11 onwards.
Additionally, from November 11 onwards, there will be an allowance of USD 3000 on debit cards to make payments to airlines for ticket purchases and for hotel bookings abroad.
On request, the bank will also facilitate payments on debit cards to hospitals for medical expenses, the President announced on September 22.
Bank of Maldives increased foreign transaction limit on debit cards from USD 250 to USD 500 on July 1 this year.
