Proxy Group has been contracted to build an outdoor volleyball court in Fulidhoo, Vaavu Atoll, a project long awaited by the island’s residents.
The agreement was signed during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Fulidhoo last Friday, with Sports Minister Abdullah Rafiu representing the government and Proxy Managing Director Ahmed Shahid signing on behalf of the company.
Previous attempts to complete the project were unsuccessful, with contracts awarded to other companies that did not finish the work.
Proxy Group is required to complete construction within 35 days of signing.
The Sports Ministry awarded the contract to Proxy following a bidding process.
Proxy was chosen for its reliability and extensive experience in similar projects, the company added.
Proxy has previously completed flooring and construction work for handball, volleyball, and football fields across the Maldives. The company also stocks turf and other accessories for sports facilities and is well known as an interior and exterior contractor.
In addition to construction, Proxy offers a range of design services and home products, which can be viewed at Proxy Home.
