Hawks Group has launched a new trading office in Istanbul under the name Hawks Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şirketi to strengthen its presence in the European and Mediterranean bunker markets.
The expansion marks a major step in the company’s mission to build a global marine fuel trading network.
As part of the launch, Hawks Group has appointed seasoned bunker traders Cemil Ünsal and Göksu Mete to the Istanbul office.
Göksu Mete, formerly with Asmira and Med Petroleum, brings extensive experience in Mediterranean markets. Cemil Ünsal, whose career spans roles as a bunker buyer for GN Group, supplier with CYE, and most recently as a trader, adds expertise across procurement, supply, and client management.
“We are delighted to welcome both Cemil Ünsal and Göksu Mete to our team,” said Hassan Rifau, CEO of Hawks Group.
“Their comprehensive experience across trading, supply, and procurement will be instrumental as we deepen our engagement in Türkiye and expand further across Europe and the Mediterranean basin.”
Positioned at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Istanbul offers Hawks Group access to vital shipping corridors, including the Bosphorus Strait, Black Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean.
The new office is expected to play a pivotal role in serving regional and global shipping clients while supporting the company’s broader bunker and cargo trading operations.
The launch of Hawks Dış Ticaret follows a period of rapid expansion for Hawks Group, which has invested heavily in fleet development, physical supply networks, and trading operations across multiple regions.
Headquartered in Maldives, Hawks Group is a licensed physical supplier in Maldives, Sri Lanka, and at high seas in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. Its international trading network now spans:
- Maldives
- Dubai
- Singapore
- Monaco
- Shanghai
- Kuala Lumpur
