BML expands ATM services to five more islands under “BML ATMs for the Whole Country” initiative

As part of its nationwide initiative “BML ATMs for the Whole Country,” the Maldives’ national bank has launched ATM services in five additional islands GDh. Atoll. This results in all inhabited of GDh atoll having BML ATMs.

The new ATM on GDh. Madaveli was officially inaugurated today at a special ceremony attended by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muthalib, BML Chairman Ahmed Ali Habib, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior officials of the Bank of Maldives.

Speaking at the event, CEO Mohamed Shareef said the expansion is a major step forward in BML’s ongoing commitment to improving financial accessibility across the country.

“We’ve always worked to bring banking services closer to communities,” he said. “Installing ATMs in every inhabited island is one of our key goals in making banking more accessible and convenient for everyone.”

With the latest expansion, BML now operates 42 branches, 181 self-service banking centers, 217 ATMs, agent banking services, and modern online banking services across all 20 atolls.
