SEA-ME-WE 6 Global Consortium meeting organized by Dhiraagu concludes in Maldives

Dhiraagu recently hosted the SEA-ME-WE 6 Global Consortium Meeting in Maldives, bringing together major international telecom and digital service providers to discuss the future of the SEA-ME-WE 6 submarine cable system. The meeting began last Tuesday and concluded today.

The SEA-ME-WE 6 submarine cable is a vital infrastructure project aimed at enhancing international connectivity between Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Western Europe. Once completed, the state-of-the-art cable system will deliver high-speed internet and improved communication services to millions across the connected regions.

Dhiraagu’s investment in the project will give the Maldives direct access to key internet exchange points and data centers in South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, supporting the country’s growing digital infrastructure and connectivity needs.

At a special welcome event for consortium participants, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed expressed his appreciation for the consortium’s collaboration. “This is a project of great importance to Dhiraagu,” he said. “It will support the digital transformation of the Maldives and contribute significantly to economic development across the nation.”
