Ooredoo Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Hussain Niyaz has confirmed that the undersea cables in the Red Sea being cut has not affected Ooredoo's internet services.

In a post on X, Niyaz stated that as of now, there has been no impact on Ooredoo internet services in the Maldives.

"We have submarine cables connecting to alternative routes such as Singapore which will have redundancy solutions should there be any impact," Niyaz wrote.

The subsea cable outages in the Red Sea occurred last Sunday. Internet access monitoring organization Netblocks said that this has degraded internet connectivity issues in India, Pakistan, and several other countries.
