SEN class built at Veymandoo through BML Bank Fund

The Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun project received funding last year. The class was built with special educational needs in mind, along with increasing student’s fine and overall motor skills and the development of skills that are needed to engage with others and be active in the community.

A Special Education Needs (SEN) classroom has been specially built for students at Th. Veymandoo with help from the BML Bank Fund.

The Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun project received funding last year. The class was built with special educational needs in mind, along with increasing student’s fine and overall motor skills and the development of skills that are needed to engage with others and be active in the community. One of Veymandoo School’s aims is to teach said students skills such as cooking, sewing, basic skills that will aid in daily life, etc, as they have their eyes set on further evolving the classroom to accommodate as such.

The President of Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun Ahmed Shaugath has said that the aim of the project is to help students who require specialized help in learning by facilitating a classroom that can accommodate their needs with various activities. He also acknowledges the help and cooperation from the school during the construction of the classroom.

This year has seen two SEN classrooms having been built by BML, with them being at Salahuddin School at Hulhumale’ and Hiriya School. Both these projects have facilitated the learning and development of more than 200 students.
