Sonee Hardware has planted 55 trees on Kudagiri picnic island to celebrate its 55th anniversary.
The initiative is part of the company's commitment to sustainability and aligns with the government’s five million tree planting programme.
Sonee Hardware said that it decided to plant trees in Kudagiri as it is a picnic island for residents of Male' area.

Sonee Hardware said it chose to mark its anniversary by contributing to the preservation of the island’s natural beauty and supporting the goal of maintaining it as a green space for public use.
The 55 trees planted include native species suited to the Maldivian environment, such as Pemphis acidula (kuredhi), Terminalia catappa (midhili), and Cordia subcordata (kaani), all of which provide shade and contribute to the island’s ecological resilience.
Sonee Hardware is one of the Maldives’ oldest hardware suppliers and is known for its ongoing engagement in community and sustainability-focused initiatives.
