A five-year partnership has been agreed upon between the Maldives Basketball Association (MBA) and BML.
BML stated that they will be building a quality in-door basketball court/arena for the purposes of required training for the national team and basketball players as a whole.
BML will also be involved in the National Basketball League and the National 3-on-3 League, along with the MBA. BML has stated that the end result of this partnership is to bring about an ease in terms of increasing player skill, along with bringing basketball to a wider audience in Maldives.
BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef stated that under the agreement, BML will also ensure their full effort in the aforementioned details, with them prioritizing their work surrounding these efforts.
Shareef also stated, "BML already has some projects in the pipeline to increase the skill of the youth in basketball as best as our capacity allows, and as the sport is something that is slowly gaining popularity in Maldives, we take great pride in our agreement with the MBA."
MBA President Ahmed Adam has stated it is a great pleasure to partner with BML in an effort to further push the boundaries of talented basketball players. And that BML is a company that strives to promote and uplift various types of sports, and are working towards giving athletes a platform to get better and various opportunities. Due to this agreement, players will get even more opportunities and a platform to achieve even more in their field, he said.
BML has said that a strategic partnership such as this and various projects are at the forefront of their efforts, with a want to empower Maldivian businesses, individuals and society as a whole.
