MIFCO signs MoU with UK’s Princes Group to strengthen seafood trade

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UK-based Princes Group to expand the export of chilled seafood and canned fish.

The agreement, signed yesterday, establishes a long-term partnership under which MIFCO will supply chilled and canned fish to the Princes Group, meeting mutually agreed quality standards. The two parties also committed to enhancing fish procurement practices and further strengthening trade relations in the future.

Representing MIFCO at the signing was Chief Executive Officer Farhath Shaheer, while Neil Bohannon, Chief Purchasing Officer of the Princes Group, signed on behalf of the British company.

The signing of the MoU coincides with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to the United Kingdom, where he is engaging in high-level diplomatic meetings. As part of his official engagements, President Muizzu met with His Majesty King Charles III earlier today.
