Four Season Landaa Giraavaru becomes first resort to join ‘Baani’ event

Four Season Landaa Giraavaru Resort has become the first resort to to participate in "Baani", an event aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of people snorkeling at the same time.

The event’s organizers said that the resort’s participation is a significant milestone and expressed hope that other resorts in Baa Atoll would soon follow suit.

A special team from Baani has been visiting islands across Baa atoll to recruit participants. They have met with island councils, local associations, clubs, and guesthouse operators to promote the event and secure participation.

The event is being organized by the Baa Atoll Council in partnership with Free Dive Maldives. In addition to aiming for a world record, Baani aims to promote tourism in the atoll and raise awareness about the environmental threats facing lagoons and marine ecosystems.

The record attempt is scheduled to take place on 4 October at Angafaru Bay in Baa atoll.
