Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race will be held on 24 October at Central Park in Hulhumalé, Dhiraagu has announced.
Now in its 16th year, the race is Maldives’ first and only international road race listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running Calendar and features a World Athletics-certified route.
Having expanded beyond Male, the event recently concluded its "Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run", and this year’s main race will continue to include participants from across the atolls.
The 2025 edition will feature four race categories including half marathon, 10km, 5km, and a 5km corporate team category. The latter allows offices and resorts to register teams of four.
A total prize pool of MVR 256,000 will be awarded to the winners, continuing the tradition of offering substantial cash prizes.
This year’s race is dedicated to child protection, aligning with Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The event will provide a platform for NGOs working in child protection to raise awareness and fundraise. NGOs interested in participating have until the end of the month to register.
Dhiraagu Road Race was first held in 2007.
