To mark this year's World Blood Donor Day, Tree Top Hospital, together with the High Commission of India in Maldives has held a special blood donation event today.
Indian High Commissioner G Balasubramanian, Indian diplomats and high commission staff participated in the event, alongside Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim and senior ministry officials.
Tree Top Hospital CEO Dr Srivatsan Sridhar G and hospital seniors and staff also joined in.

At the event, Tree Top Hospital CEO Srivatsan Sridhar G said that donation of blood is a priceless gift granted towards saving lives.
He emphasized the importance of helping those in need within the community, describing blood donation as a means of helping many.
He stated that it is an esteemed honour to work with the Indian High Commission to mark this year's World Blood Donors Day.
The Indian High Commission noted that this is the second year that the commission has participated in a similar event. They stated that events such as this will increase awareness amongst the public on the importance of giving blood, and increase interest amongst potential donors.
World Blood Donors Day is marked on June 14 annually.
