Bank of Maldives (BML) has urged customers to update their mailing addresses to resolve ongoing challenges in delivering bank cards via Maldives Post.

Mohamed Saeed, BML’s Head of Brand and Marketing Strategy, said the bank is committed to issuing cards promptly but is facing difficulties due to inaccurate or outdated customer addresses.

“The most notable issue is that customers are not residing at the address provided to the bank,” Saeed said.

“In some cases, they have listed their permanent address as their mailing address. Customers can update their information easily through Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking app.”

To maintain security, cards are not activated until they are physically handed over to the customer.

“Only the customer can activate the card,” Saeed added.

“The bank does not activate cards on behalf of customers. Once the card is received, it can be activated instantly through internet or mobile banking.”

BML staff will continue to deliver cards to customers living in other atolls.
