Ooredoo Maldives has won the "Telco of the Year – Small Markets" award at the Twimbit Telecom Awards 2025.
This is the second consecutive win for Ooredoo Maldives in the category.
The awards recognizes telecom operators worldwide for excellence in innovation, customer experience, and digital transformation across various market segments. The "Small Markets" category is open to operators in countries with populations under two million.
Ooredoo secured the top spot ahead of other nominees Dhiraagu , Brunei's DST and Bhutan Telecom.
The company was awarded for its continued efforts in digital innovation and inclusive services, including the rollout of 5G as part of its "Digital Maldives" strategy. Other factors included the expansion of its fintech platform m-Faisaa, the integration of AI-driven digital experiences, and a range of community-based initiatives aimed at fostering digital inclusion.
Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al Hamadi described the award as “a great honour” and a testament to the company’s commitment to advancing a digital future for Maldives.
