Villa College has begun its Orientation Week to welcome newly enrolled students and help them adapt to the college environment.
The week-long program is designed to introduce students to various services, departments, and academic opportunities available at the college.
The Orientation Week kicked off with a faculty orientation session held from 4 pm to 10 pm yesterday. This session took place both on campus and online via Google Meet, allowing for wider participation. During the session, heads of faculties and lecturers met with students to provide details about their respective programmes and answer questions.
As part of the activities, Villa College organized the “VC Scavenger Hunt,” which was held in two sessions. Foundation students participated from 4 pm to 6 pm, while undergraduate students took part from 7 pm to 9 pm.
The event served as a fun and interactive way for students to connect with staff from the registration, finance, examination, and learning support departments.
College Rector Dr Ahmed Anwar also met with and welcomed the new students, emphasizing the importance of making the most of the academic and extracurricular opportunities offered by the college.
The orientation program also includes a special online session titled “VC Virtual Venture,” scheduled for tonight from 7 pm to 9 pm. This session is specifically designed for distance learners.
Villa College Student Services Manager Fathimath Jazly Amir stated that the Orientation Week aims to provide students with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in their studies.
She highlighted that the event helps students become familiar with the resources, support systems, and academic services available at Villa College.
