Maldives to get eSIM services on Apple watches

Maldives has been listed among the countries that would receive eSIM services on Apple watches.

This service is available via Ooredoo's eSIMs Wearables - a service launched by the telecom company last month. Ooredoo said this service is offered to their customers as part of the company's efforts to expand digital experiences for customers.

The service was launched by Ooredoo with a special offer where customers who seek the service would receive Apple Watch cellular services free for six months. After the offer period, the service will be provided for a monthly fee of MVR 200, and is open to both postpaid and prepaid customers.

The eSIM Wearables allow phone calls to be made through the Apple Watch without requiring an iPhone. Under this service, SIMs in both the phone and watch will carry the same number.

Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Ultra 2 and Apple Watch SE and other Apple watches are also available through Ooredoo eCommerce.
