Local telecommunication company Dhiraagu has announced the winner of its virtual, in-app watermelon slicing challenge, who gets to go on a trip to Switzerland.
The award was presented to the winner, Mohamed Iuthiman Ali in a special ceremony held at the Dhiraagu head office on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by the company's senior officials and employees.
Iuthiman said he couldn't believe it when he first learned he had won the Switzerland trip.
"I didn't think I would have the opportunity to go to Switzerland so easily by slicing watermelons on the Dhiraagu app. This is a very valuable prize," he said.
He said the trip was a valuable reward for him as a Dhiraagu customer and that he was very happy to receive such a grand prize.
This year, during Ramadan, Dhiraagu offered two GB of data by slicing watermelons on the company's app everyday. The promotion also offered the opportunity to win special prizes by achieving a specific target of sliced watermelons. This included free 10 GB data, airpods and Samsung S25 phones as well as one TB of data.
