Bank of Maldives has placed its first Dollar ATM outside of capital Male' City in Kaafu atoll Maafushi.

Establishing a Dollar ATM in Maafushi is among the president pledges of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. He announced the pledge in a rally in Kaafu atoll Guraidhoo during campaign trips for the first round of the Presidential Election last year.

Later, a resident of Maafushi asked the President about the pledge on a 'President's Answer' episode. President's Answer is an online program where the President directly responds to questions posed by the public, both via video.

When asked by this resident about the pledge in February, the President said that the target is to place a Dollar ATM in Maafushi within the year, assuring it would be done as soon as possible.

BML said that the new ATM would allow customers, both businesses and the general public, to conveniently withdraw and deposit dollars.

This is the first Dollar ATM located outside capital Male' City. BML said that this ATM is an addition to the ATM network currently placed in Male', Hulhumale' and Velana International Airport.

BML's Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking Moosa Nimal said that the demand for dollar transactions has been increasing in Maafushi.

"It is a pleasure to address this and place the Dollar ATM in Maafushi. As Maafushi's economy continues to grow, we, as the largest bank in the Maldives, are dedicated to provide 24 hour banking service to individuals and businesses," he said.

Recently, BML has expanded the services provided in their Maafushi branch. The branch now offers services such as dollar deposits and withdrawals, loans and financing applications, cheque deposits and money exchange.
