Opportunity to submit bids for the sale of plots from the recently reclaimed land in Kaafu atoll, Maafushi, which is one of the most thriving local tourism destinations in the Maldives, has been opened.
Maafushi Council announced the sale of six plots of land in line with the island's land use plan from the newly reclaimed area.
The sizes of these plots range between 1,961.42 square feet and 1,961.48 square feet.
According to the council's announcement, the minimum bidding price for the six plots from Maafushi is MVR 2,000 per square feet. This is the highest price for land sold in any island in Maldives besides the capital city Male'.
While the price of a bid document is MVR 30,000, MVR 100,000 has to be kept as bid security.
Successful bidders are required to pay an advance of MVR 50,000, and the total winning bid amount must be paid to the council within 30 days.
While the purchase process of bid documents will be open from Sunday, March 24 to April 24, the bid submission is scheduled for May 5.
